Preparation for mission

Sally and I were preparing for this mission in early 2008, when along came
a heart attack in May 2008 and set us back with surgery for another year until May
2009 and then getting our medical papers in the process I was told to have an
echo cardiogram and the Dr discovered not enough blood flow and scheduled an angiogram. This turned up the callaps of all 4 grafted by passes and this was
even more serious because they couln't get to two of the arteries. they worked on
the other two to place 3 stents in one artery and one stent in another artery and
left the other two calapsed because they could not get to them. I was told that at
this time I was not a candidate for another heart bypass.
We have since been waiting for a medical release from the Dr. to pursue this mission. We did meet with our Stake President and he is holding our papers and ask
that we meet the Nielsons in our stake since they were recently releasd from the SLC
mission presidency that we are pursuing. They were very enlighting with us and told
us to not send in our papers before we are medially released. We shared other medical conditions that his wife had and lived with after her operation on there mission.
We are still looking forward in the near future to serve on this mission.
This all reminds me of Steven Butterfield that was called on his mission and at his
medical exam they discovered cancer. He was hospitalized and operated on and then
returned home from SLC. He was told to wait for at least a year before going on his mission. Latter a year later steven was again taken ill and we found out that his cancer had returned. We were sent to a specialist in Scottsdale and he hospitalize him and yes another operation and Kimo therapy was applied , What a very sick young
man he was. He gained strength and one year later his Dr. gave him a clearance to
go on his mission. Since then only success has attended Steven with good health.
We are grateful for this.
In the mean time we are waiting !!!

To view these temples in these locations is a beautiful site to see and especially since I grew up there. The temple to the left <--- is in box canyon just south of Draper Utah on the north side of of the mountain from Alpine Utah. The picture was taken from the west side of the Oqiirh mountain temple built in South Jordan Utah. This temple is just south west of the origonal temple built in South Jordan known as the Jordan river Temple. this is about a block away from where I grew up and my two brothers still live in an around this location. I believe the Oqiirh mountain temple is a mirror image of the Draper temple. Another view of this new temple is the following right page view -->

This might be odd to start our blog with these two temples, but we are preparing to go to SLC on a family/church history mission as soon as I can get a medical release from my Doctor. I am hoping within two weeks that we can finish our paperwork and submit to our Stake President.
